I have been so bad about updating this blog that I just decided to post some pictures. I am sure this is making some hard core bloggers about sick! Most of these pictures were taken in early August. I can't believe how much the girls have changed. I will be back on Wednesday to post a bear picture. Caroline will be 6 months old. Is that possible?!?!?

Gosh, I can't believe that Caroline will be six months old in just a couple of weeks. I did remember to take her five month picture with "the pink bear", but of course didn't post it until today! She is growing so FAST! We have tried rice cereal and oatmeal. Not sure she liked them. Lydia really never liked them either. She does however like vegetables. We have tried all the stage one vegetables. Green beans seem to be her least favorite and really liked the rest all about the same. About a month ago I started giving her just one dose of your medicine. I did that for about two weeks and then just stopped giving it to her all together. She seems to be doing great without taking it. Hopefully we are finished with that.

I had to take Caroline to the Dr.'s today. She has had a very runny nose. I guess she just has a cold. Her ears looked good and clear. So, hopefully she will get to feeling better soon. Last night was NO fun for baby or mama! I did get some new stats on her: 18 lbs. 14 oz and 28 inches. She is a growing girl! I can't believe that she is already wearing 9-12 month clothes and I just bought her size 4 diapers..what?!?! I am pretty sure that is the last size Lydia wore before wearing panties!! I did feel like I won the lottery last month. Caroline was running out of clothes..so, I went and checked out some clothes in storage and she can fit in A LOT of Lydia's old stuff! YAY! Like this pink outfit Lydia wore when she was 8-9 months old. I know that Caroline will slim down a bit when she starts moving and groving. Til next time.........

Wildcat Weekend

Last Saturday marked the first weekend of college football and the first Wildcat home game. We have season tickets and this year along with some great friends got a parking spot. We were able to get three spots together and they are sweet! So, we left home early enough to get in some major tailgating. I mean that is part of the experience, right?!?!? Well, we at least think it is. It is a lot of extra work and makes for a super long day...but, totally worth it!! I am not sure if I have ever mentioned this before..but, Manhattan is one of my favorite places. I just LOVE it!

It was a beautiful day in the "Little Apple". It is always great to see friends and of course celebrate a Wildcat victory.

Fun At The Fair!

It was REALLY HOT this year for our county fair. I mean over 100 degree...AND I don't do over 100 in fact over 85 is really too much for me :) So, needless to say we only made it down to the CCF once. Lydia loved the animals this year. We actually went to the hog and beef shows (which were held in the a.m) and were a little cooler. The pigs were her favorites! We left Caroline with grandma and papa..it was too hot for her.

Summer Visitors!

The last weekend in June (I think) we had some VERY special visitors. Jeff, Angie, Casey, Segen, and Jeffs' mom Debbie were headed to OKC and made a pit stop at our house. The little girls were able to play a little and then we headed to town for lunch. Segen turned three in August. She is such a sweet little girl and has the most amazing eyes! Segen's big sister, Casey had a dance/cheer contest. If I remember currently they did awesome! We missed seeing big brother Cade but hope to see him this football season!

I am soooo behind on blogging. Not sure why?? We really haven't been overly busy. I am also behind on reading others..so, hopefully I can catch up soon :) I have so much to share. I am not even sure where to start!

This summer was full of fun for Miss Lydia Grace. She was enrolled in two art classes, a rec class "Wiggles & Giggles, and swimming lessons. I only remembered to take my camera to W & G. She LOVED it and we were excited the Rec offered a mini session in August.

Lydia was a perfect mixture of shy and willing to participate. She was often timid when the teachers called her name and kinda shy to walk up but did an awesome job up at the front solo. Baby Caroline came with us so Lydia had to be a BIG girl while I stayed back and sat with sis. Caroline did an awesome job as well! I was pretty impressed with the way they both acted.

I unfortunately wasn't able to take any pictures at swimming lessons. It was just too HOT for Caroline to be out so Kane stayed at home with her. Next year Lydia will have lessons in the a.m. and I won't have to get in with her...but, it will be Carolines' turn for that!

Fun, Fun, and MORE Fun!

Saturday I headed to Manhattan (one of my favorite places) with Laura, Amber and Megan to see our wonderful friend Christie (one of our favorite people). We had been planning this trip for over a month and EVERYONE was looking forward to it. We ate lunch, went shopping at the mall, got pedicures, ate, went to the movies (Eat Love Pray) really wasn't a fan, ate some more, and stayed up WAY too late for this lady. Had a wonderful breakfast and then of course it wouldn't have been a "trip" unless we hit a Target together.

I am proud to say that I somehow kept off my one pound I lost during the week. SO, that means 24 to go! Have NO clue how that happened!!

I had a GREAT time! Thanks ladies...it was nice to get away but I did miss my hubby and girls. A big thanks to Kane for taking charge this weekend. AND a big thanks to Grandma Connie and Grandma Deann for watching them Saturday morning/early afternoon while Kane went to work.

Letters From Nan

We received a wonderful gift in the mail about two weeks ago. Nancy, or Nan as I call her created these oh so cute letters to spell out Caroline's name. Nan is so creative and talented. AND so super sweet! I have only meet Nan once and only have known her for about two years but feel as though I have known her for a lifetime. She used to work with Uncle Kye in Ohio and I think he would agree is a GREAT person!

Nan had made letters for Lydia for her second birthday and I quickly put them up in her playroom. So, when I received Caroline's name I knew exactly were I would put them. The girls will share so many great times in their playroom. I think they look awesome and I just LOVE them!! Thanks Nan

Little Miss

Caroline turned FOUR months old on Thursday! I just can't believe how fast the last couple of months have gone by. We have been busy with summer activities, finishing things downstairs, and just spending family time together :) Things have been going VERY smooth here. Both girls are sleeping great. After finally getting Caroline to sleep through the night...Lydia started getting up and walking around the living room. It was strange. After walking around for awhile she would come in our room...look at me and say "put me back to bed." So, we finally decided that the baby gate needed to make an appearance. Since then she has been staying put!!

I took Caroline back to the doctor early in July. I could tell her medicine just wasn't working. I knew she wasn't a 12 lb. baby anymore. In fact she was 15 lbs. 14 oz. and 26 inches. She has really grown so we increased her dose a bit. I also discussed with the doctor that I really wanted her to be done with this stuff if possible by six months. Hopefully we can be successful!!

Caroline at FOUR Months:

*rolled over at 3 months and 3 days

*eating 8 oz. every 3 to 4 hrs.

*wearing size 3 diapers during the day

*wearing size 4 overnights..during nap and night (I have never seen a baby who can fill a diaper like this one)

*sleeping 10 to 12 hours at night

*loves her big sis

*really using her voice :)

Last month we had a VERY special visitor: Uncle Kye! Uncle Kye lives in Ohio and we only get to see him a couple of times a year. He was in Kansas for a wedding and made a special trip home to meet baby Caroline for the first time. It is always a special treat to see him. Lydia LOVES her Uncle Kye. She talks about him a lot. Soon she will be asking to call him and she becoming a little chatter box on the telephone these days...so watch out!

We headed to Kobe's Saturday night for dinner. It was a big hit. This was Lydia's first time going and I think she enjoyed it. She talked about "fire" a lot after her experience. On Sunday it was Uncle Kye's birthday so we had breakfast together. It was a great weekend!

I did try getting them side-by-side but I guess my margins aren't wide enough. Who knows. I have enough trouble trying to figure things out. I mean I still have a Thanksgiving background that comes up..does anyone know how to fix that? I can't even find out where it is!?!?!

Anyway....Here is a picture of Lydia at three months and then one of Caroline down below at the same age. I have had a number of people say..she doesn't look anything like her sister. I can see some features that are similar. Caroline is defiantly smaller and has some petite features. I have NO clue where she got those because there is nothing petite about her father or me. I can't wait to watch them grow :)

On Tuesday little Miss was three months old. In some ways the time has really flown by and then sometimes I think...it has only been three months. I think I finally have things "together". AND yes, it only took me three months. Having two little ones has been a bigger adjustment than I thought it would be. Well, I knew it would be hard. However, now I look back at things that I didn't like to do with just Lydia and think, that would have been really EASY!! I am pretty sure today was the first time I took them both to Dillons. Everyone was great and was pretty painless. Tomorrow I am making a quick trip to Derby...we shall see how that goes.

Caroline at THREE months:

*She is sooo close to rolling over

*grabbing things like crazy

*talking

*trying very hard to suck on both fists at the same time

*wearing size 2 diapers

*wearing mostly 6 months clothes

*sleeping some nights 10 hours...but others needs to get up once to have a snack

Yesterday Lydia decided that Caroline needed to set in Emma's car seat. It is a little plastic seat for a baby doll. I told her that Caroline was too big for that..so she took matters into her own hands. I was fixing lunch and had Lydia's plate finished, turned around to get a fork and saw Lydia holding her sister in a bear hug. Caroline was just kidding hanging there. Lydia had picked her up. My eyes just about popped out. I didn't want to yell at her because I was afraid she would have dropped her. I went running over there and grabbed C and told LG that she could not pick her up and carry her. I think I scared her! She sure scared ME!

We had a wonderful Father's Day yesterday! We were able to see and spend time with all the "dad's" in our family. We had a wonderful breakfast with Kane's parents and celebrated Father's Day with Papa Dennis. Then later that evening we saw Papa Roger. Lydia loves her papas.

Lydia and I broke out her pool only to discover it has a slight hole in it. So, we headed to Wal-Mart and found a new one for her. It is bigger and the first thing she wanted to know was if her friends could come over. She is a social butterfly. Then we finished up some things around the house and spent the rest of the day just being with each other. It was nice...

AND of course we had to have a photo session with dad...or dude. Yes, Lydia has started calling Kane dude or duder. It is very strange. I have no clue where she came up with it, but, I just have to laugh..because she says it ALL the time.

Kane, Caroline, baby girl, and Lydia. Lydia has really been playing with her baby dolls lately. She has several. Emma is her cabbage patch doll and the only one that she calls by name. So, I was trying to get her to name this baby. Which is MY baby doll (no joking) and she just wanted to call her baby girl. AND she also had to be in the picture.

We did have some tears when baby girl had to exit the picture :) The girls are sooo luck to have you as their father--you are the best..dad..or dude!

The Swing Set

Last month we decided that little Miss Lydia and of course one day Caroline too needed a swing set. We had spent some time looking at different options and decided to purchase a kit from Sam's. We traveled the distance to pick it up and when we did we were surprised that it came in four VERY thin boxes and had a green plastic slide. So, we loaded it up and headed home. Kane was in a big hurry to get it assembled. I mean what was ONE more project added to our already very long list. Kane along with the help of his father whipped this out. Not sure how many hours they spent...but, I am pretty sure they won't be signing up to put another one together anytime soon :)

The finished product and a rainbow to boot :) Lydia has already put in some major hours playing on "her swing set." The first evening it was finished Lydia came in crying so I just knew she had fallen...nope just didn't want to come in!

Caroline was two months old on the 22nd...I know I am couple of days behind. Blogging has really been on the back burner lately. Having two kids really makes for a busy day!

I am happy to report that Caroline is turning into a happy/smiling baby. She is sleeping great! Which I love.

We went to the Doctor last Monday and everything looked great. The medicine she is taking seems to really be helping her reflux. We might have to start playing with the dosage. But, for know we are just giving it to her once a day.

She is really growning!

Caroline's One Month Stats AND The Pink Bear

I realize, I am late getting this post together (this is begining to be a constent theme). Caroline was a month old on the 22nd of April! I think I mentioned that in an earlier post..but I totally forgot to take her picture with the the "pink bear" and mention any of the amazing things she is already doing.

Weight: 9 lbs. 14 oz.

Length: 22

She is a growing girl. We have still been a little fussy..so we have gone to the Dr.'s twice because I just knew it was MORE than just a "fussy baby" Last Wednesday we had an x-ray to make sure everything was fine with her intestines. Everything looked fine..tried some medicine that didn't not work. SO, we went back this Tuesday and we are fairly certain that she has some reflux problems. She is currently taking Zantac and I am hoping that does the trick. I have yet to see a major improvement...and if I am going to be giving my daughter medicine like this...I want there to be MAJOR improvement. She is still growing...on Tuesday she was 10 lbs. 14 oz. and her length was 22 3/4.

We have been doing A LOT of this :(

So, I am a little behind in getting this post together :) Easter this year was a little "staged" this year. We didn't make it to Church this year which was disappointing. We did get the girls together for some pictures, Lydia got to hunt some eggs in the yard, and they got a little something from the Easter bunny.

One Month

I can't believe that Caroline is already a month old. I told Kane that this month has just flown by...and he told me that this has been the longest month of his life :) We have kinda been on a rocky road. We have been told that Caroline is colic. Which has not been fun for all parties involved. I have been taking her to a Chiropractor in Wichita and she seems to be improving. I have been slightly frustrated because she will have a couple of good days followed by one that is NOT so hot. The Doc did tell me that she would be up and down for awhile. We went five days last week, four this week and I just made appointments for next week.

Needless to say we haven't had the camera out much...because, not one wants to see pictures of a crying baby, right?!?! Monday was a great day here and I decided to take so pics. I hope to remember to take some pictures tomorrow of Caroline and the big pink bear.

Lydia is still lovin' her. I can't wait for Caroline to feel 100% so we can all play togther and go do some things.

Meet Caroline Reid

Baby Caroline (as her sister likes to call her) will be three weeks old tomorrow. The weeks have really flown by! Things started off a little rocky to say the least. Lydia and Kane have both been sick and I have had two infections. AND having two kids is HARD...I hope we are on the upswing here. I think Caroline might be a little colicy so we are going to see a Doc about her tomorrow. Of course she could just be a typical baby. Lydia really spoiled us and I think it is pay back time. Once she gets to sleep she is a good sleeper and I really can't complain about the amount of sleep I am getting...but, it is so different having another child to entertain :) Thankfully, I have a great family and wonderful friends that have kept Lydia a lot in the last couple of weeks!

BUT, no matter how rocky it has been...I am so thankful to have two healthy children. I am so blessed!

We haven't downloaded the pictures from the O.R and recovery. So, hopefully I can post them soon.

It took until Saturday until Lydia really wanted to hold her and as you can tell she was pretty excited.

CUTE

Two things SURPRISED everyone...her size and that hair! The moment I saw her...I looked at Kane and said "she is NO way as big as Lydia." Lydia was big and thick...Caroline has very tiny features. She weighed in at 8 lbs. 2 ozs. Which is super tiny in our eyes. I think the hospital staff thought we were crazy. They kept telling us.."that is NOT a small baby." Lydia was 9 lbs. 2 ozs. and everyone thought "this baby would be at least high 9's or maybe a 10 pounder. The next big surprise was her hair. Lydia didn't have this much hair until she was at least a year old.

I think Lydia really likes her sister. She tells us daily. "I like her" she also loves giving her kisses and hugs. When she hears Caroline cry..she says "she not happy."

I hope they will grow up being super close. I know they will have some rough patches...ahh things to look forward to :)

A Family Of Three...Is About To Be FOUR

Well, tomorrow is the BIG day. We are very excited to welcome our new addition into our loving family. I have tried to stay pretty busy this weekend which wasn't real hard between getting things ready and watching basketball. Even though tomorrow will be a very blessed day AND I will finally get to meet our son or daugher. I really don't like to think about having major surgery. I have to admit it does make me a little nervous. Last time I only had about two days to think about it...this time months.

I have thought A LOT in the last couple of days...tomorrow we will start a new chapter in our lives...which also means we are closing one. Our family of three is going to be four. WOW, that sounds grown up?!?!?

I have really tried to give Lydia lots of attention this week. She is excited about the baby but, really don't have a clue that her life will be forever changed.

Miss Lydia Grace

I can't believe that Lydia is 28 months today! WOW, where has the time gone. For the most part Lydia is a happy little girl. She a spunky little girl and well, kinda strong willed. I honestly think she gets that from both of us...even though Kane would say it is 100% ME. I can't believe on Monday she will be a BIG SISTER. I think she is excited..but, I'm not sure what she will think about sharing attention and "IT" staying all the time. I know in the long run she will do fine and love her new brother or sister more than words!!

Everyday she seems to be doing/learning some new skill. It is so excting to see. Here are some of the things she has done recently:

-Being able to match up pieces of games (loves the matching game from Christie)

-Knows her colors

-Wants to do everything by herself...get dressed, buckle car seat, put lids on cups...you name it..she wants to do it :)

-Learning new animals and the sounds they make...it is so cute to hear her pronounce some of them :)

-She almost always says please and thank you

I just wanted to post some of my favorite pics :)

I had an appointment today...my LAST one! My doctor is on vacation (probably skiing with her kids in Colorado..lucky). So, I saw the PA today..she is a hoot. Every thing looked great. I was measuring 39 weeks and the heartbeat was 150 bpm.

AND since I spend most of my time in la la land...I totally forgot to post TWO very special birthday's yesterday. My great friend from K-State Karie and Mr. Grant. I hope you both had WONDERFUL days!

The Baby's Room

Yesterday marked 38 weeks...and I am feeling it. I am still feeling pretty good BUT I have also felt better. I spent most of the day getting "things" ready. I cleaned and organized the baby's room and finshed packing the baby's baby. We also installed the car seat and I even started putting bags and other items in the car. It felt so good to get that ready...just in case our little person decides to make an early enterance (which I don't think will happen..but, just in case). I have my last Doctor's appointment tomorrow and then by this time next week we will be holding our new blessing. We have finalized names....NOW we just need to know which one we are using :)

When we found out we were having another little one, we decided to keep Lydia in the room that was "hers" and decided to use the our spare room upstairs for the baby's room. We are currently finishing our basement and will have room down there for guests (I can't wait to show the finished results).

Dress Up

We really haven't done much this week but go to playgroup and hang out at home so, Lydia has had to find ways to entertain herself :) I have to say that she does an awesome job of playing by herself. On this day she found her beads and her Snow White shoes. She did a pretty good job walking about in them..but, then she had enough! I believe these are the same shoes that her friend Hadley wore around one WHOLE evening at our house..and she was feeling it the next day!

Yesterday I had a doctors appointment. Just one more left until the BIG day! I am on the count down...just 11 days. I am getting so excited. I can't wait to hold our new bundle of joy!

Busy Times

Last week I spent lots of time preparing for the arrival of you new addition. I finally got out jammers, bibs, burp cloths, hats, and little white snap shirts. I know after you wash and dry things they shrink..but, mercy I hope our little one fits in these shirts because they look SMALL. I also decided to pack yellow, pink and blue hats :) AND of course some K-State hats.

The baby's room still isn't all together. Lydia loves going in there and saying "baby's room" and of course digging stuff out. So, my hopes of getting that perfect picture might not happen because I just don't have it in me these days to pick everything back up.

Today I am 37 weeks and I am fading fast! I hate to complain...but, I will :) I NEVER felt this way during my first pregancy. This could have something to do with having a 2 year old to keep up with. I haven't been sleeping very well and my lower back is killing me. My feet and hands are swallow and look awful. I haven't wore my rings in over a week and that is so not like me..I never take them off...but, they aren't going back on :) OK, that's enough of that....I really don't like to complain..because you choose to do this plus your reward at the end is sooo worth it. Two weeks from tomorrow and we will meet your new son or daughter. I am getting so excited....

Friday night after super Kane and Lydia were playing in the baby's room and I was reading Church Scholarship applications when Lydia came out sporting her sling. She had put it on all my herself and even put her favorite baby in it.

A Little Birthday Muffin

On Monday, Megan, Norah Kate, Laura and Barrett came over to celebrate Norah Kate's birthday with muffins. All the kids had a great time playing and eating. The adults did have a little time to "talk" which is always nice.

3 Weeks To Go!

Last wednesday I had a Dr. appointment. It was time to have my group B streptococcus screening. I will know the results this Wednesday as I head back for another appointment. I was measuring 2 weeks bigger, which I think might have been her just being nice. The look on her face told me that I might even be slightly bigger. She once again asked me how big my daughter was...so, I guess this baby could tip the scales at 10 lbs. Then again, he or she might only be 8 lbs :) I guess we have three weeks and we will know. I did find out at this appointment that my doctor does not check repeat c-section patients for dilation. So, I guess I won't have that to report in the coming weeks. She also told me that she will use my same incision to delivery this little peanut. My blood pressure was still awesome and the baby's bpm was 155.

I am getting soooo excited to meet you!

Carrot Cake

Ingredients:
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. gound cinnamon
1 c. cooking oil
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baing soda
3 c. finely shredded carrots
4 eggs

Directions:
In large mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Add carrots, oil and eggs. Beat with an electric mixer till combined. Pour batter into greased ad lightly floured pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

Cream Cheese Frosting

Beat together two 3 oz. pkgs. of ceam cheese, softened; 1/2 c. butter, softened; and 2 tsp. vanilla till light and fluffy. Grandually add 2 c. sifted powdered sugar, beating well. Gradually beat in 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 c. additional sifted powdered sugar to reach spreading consistency.

35 Weeks

35 weeks and one day...that means in just four short weeks we will be blessed with our baby! I have to say that I am physically ready to have this baby. I mean really...can I get four weeks bigger?!?!? It dawned on me last night that I have nothing bought, washed, or packed for our stay in the hospital. I guess I probably should start making a list and doing some things. Not to mention the baby's room is NOT done yet--maybe I will work on that tonight after Lydia goes to bed if I have enough energy :) Speaking of energy..I pretty much have NONE..so, wish me luck :)

Laura had asked me to post a picture of me pregnant with Lydia and then one this time around. Here is my best attempt on pictures side-by-side (thanks for the tips). Boy, I look pretty tried in the new one...and that was taken yesterday at 10 am..yikes!! I have a doctors appointment Wednesday then it's back every week.

Lydia is really starting to get excited about "the baby" She loves to touch, kiss and hug the baby in my belly. She also loves to lift up my shirt and talk to my belly...she has even tried doing this to people who are not pregnant..sorry Megan :) Two of the funniest things she has done are...calling my stretch marks oches. Which made an appearance A LOT sooner this time around. The second things she has been saying is "mommy back hurts"...does that mean I have been saying it a lot--YES!

Lydia's Friends

Lydia loves all animals! She has yet to meet a four legged creature that she didn't care for. Sadie and Frost are two dogs that she thinks are pretty cool. Sadie is our beagle..she is a lazy and sometimes grouchy! Lydia often gets out all of Sadie's toys (and some other items..see the lint roller) or her things..you see she likes to share. She thinks Sadie wants to "play with them" Well, she really doesn't have any interest unless it involves FOOD!

Frost is Kane's parents dog. She is Lydia's other doggie freind. Frost is a lab and seems to play a little bit more with the Little Miss. However, she also has a limit :) Frost also has a little bit more engery than Lydia's fat dog :)

I can't go without saying that Lydia also loves ALL the cats in her life. I don't know how she keeps them all straight..but, she knows the names of them all and who they belong to. It is really cute.

A Growing Belly

Sunday will mark 35 weeks of pregnancy! That means two things....another belly picture and one more week closer to meeting our baby. I have to admit...I really start to get impatient around this time. AND not because I am so uncomfortable or so ready NOT to be pregnant...BUT, I really want to know if this is a little man or a little lady :) I know everyone is saying you could have found out 15 weeks ago--but, we didn't and I wouldn't have it any other way :) ALL we are praying for is a healthy baby and a safe delivery.

Speaking of boy or girl...two people stopped me today and said, "so, I see you are having a baby girl"..Well, we don't know. They just knew for sure...this was a little girl because of the way I am carrying. Who knows--I do know we are getting closer to deciding on a name. We have a girls first for sure and getting very close to selecting a middle. For a little boy..well, we have three choices and might have to meet the little guy before we decide (if he is a little guy) the middle name will be Kane for sure though.

I am sad to report that I think today was my last day of aerobics. I think I have reached my limit. Plus, getting up at 5.00 AM..might be overrated for me at this point in time. I think I could use the extra shut eye.

Cream Puff Dessert

Cream Puff Dessert

1 stick butter
1 c. water
1 c. flour
4 eggs
1 large box instant pudding
3 c. milk
1 8oz. package of cream cheese
1 8 oz. carton cool whip

Boil water and butter. Add flour and beat well. Cool slightly. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Spread in greased 9x13 baking pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool completely. Mix pudding, milk and cream cheese together. pour over crust. Spread cool whip on top of pudding mixture. Drizzle with chocolate syrup or sprinkle with mini chips or other sprinkles.

Any flavor of pudding may be used. You may also substitute 2 small packages pudding (increase milk to 3 1/2 cups) for the one large package.

A BIG thank you to Grandma Connie! She made us matching baby slings :) She is such a talented lady!! I love them! Lydia hasn't gotten the idea just yet. Something tells me when I have a baby in mine...she will have one of her babies in hers. They are soooo cute. I am excited to use it.

I didn't have a sling or wrap with Lydia, but knew this was something that I needed with a baby and a two year old. I think it will make things a little easier :)

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! We had a great day just spending time together. We didn't make it to Church this morning. I haven't been sleeping very well. I will wake up around 3 or 4 and can't get back to sleep. SO, I told Kane if I was still sleeping we probably wouldn't make it to 8.30 church. Needless, to say I sleep pretty good! Kane was going to make the ladies in the house chocolate waffles for breakfast, but Lydia wanted toast and yogurt..AND she won.

Kane was so sweet and got Lydia and I some candy. I am pretty sure we both consumed enough candy for the rest of the month :) After getting ready we had a small gift for our little Valentine. She was so excited..especially to see Snow White and her new books.

Valentine Cookies

On Tuesday we ventured over to Norah Kate's house. Her mommy Megan had invited us over to decorate sugar cookies in honor of Valentine's Day. She had some extra special guests there her niece and nephew. Megan had all the cookies baked and ready to frost and sprinkle. I am pretty sure that the kids had a great time. AND I also know that the adults were exhausted by the time we cleaned up! Poor Meg even gave herself a headache :( I don't think any of else will be opening a daycare anytime soon!!

I decided after this play date I really need to loosen up. I was the only mommy that didn't let their child frost their own cookies. I know...I need to chill out. Lydia had a blast putting sprinkles on the cookies. And just like when we decorated cookies at Christmas she refused to eat any of them. I guess she thought they were too pretty to eat.

Lydia had a sprinkle jar malfunction...and ALL the sprinkles fell on her heart!

I had a Doctor's appointment today. Things went great! Miss Lydia was invited to attend this appointment. Our doctor hadn't seen her since she was about 2 weeks old. She of course was a BIG hit!!

I am measuring 1 week later (bigger) which is really no surprise. It seemed like I was always 1 or 2 weeks bigger with Lydia. While feeling around on my tummy she asked how much Lydia weighed and I told her and her response was....(not sure of her exact words) but something like....yes, this baby is also going to be very large. She said she could already tell by the size of his or her head..yikes! Glad it isn't coming out the natural way :) My blood pressure is still great and the baby's heart was beating 150 bpm. Which is on the lower end--usually it ranges from 150-175.

I'm beat...it's 8.03 and I might just go to bed :)

Chocolate Waffles

This recipe is straight out of the Rural Route #5 Box 113 cookbook that my mother-in-law created for her boys. It is full of delicious recipes that are family favorites. These waffles won't disappoint!

Chocolate Waffles

1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 t. salt
2 eggs
1/2 c. oil
1 t. vanilla
2 t. baking powder
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. milk
4 T. cocoa

Mix dry ingredients, add liquids & mix, bake in waffle maker. ENJOY!!

Me and My Pink Bear

I have been cleaning out and organizing ALL the pictures we have on our computer (which is a lot). Looking at all the pictures of my Lydia Grace brought a tear to my eye. Remembering what it is like to hold a newborn baby, cuddling with them in the rocker, and their sweet smell. She has grown so much in 27 months! However, when I look back at pictures I see that beautiful smile and her amazing eyes. AND that personality...what a blessing! AND I also realized that she was pretty darn cute even with NO hair or teeth!!

2010 has been full of HUGE changes at our house. Along with potty training we wanted to move Lydia to a big bed and move the nursery to our guest room. After our trip to Tulsa we decided to go ahead and "just do it". Lydia had been climbing out of her crib and nap time had been a disaster so my thoughts were could it get any worse?!?! I was thankful we didn't have to take the crib apart and just had to slide it across the hallway. It was kinda sad. It dawned on me that Lydia is not a baby anymore and we are moving on to a new chapter of our lives.

This is Lydia's BIG girl room. I need to find or make a bed skirt then I think it will be complete! Lydia LOVES it!! AND yes, my two year old is sleeping in a queen size bed. When we got married we had two queen size beds and then we bought a king. I thought what the hay we might has well use what we have :)

I am happy with the way it turned out...and making the move has been a breeze. She has never gotten out on her own (I should probably knock on wood). My only complaint is that it seems to take her so much longer to fall asleep. Today after KDI was the first time that I would say we were on our regular schedule.

Potty Time

Exactly one month ago we started potty training at our house! This was about our third attempt. For one reason or another we just gave up in past tries. This time we were determined that this would be the time it worked. I really wasn't interested in buying diapers for two little ones.

In past attempts I would say that she was toilet trained but would never tell us when she had to go. The liquid waste seemed to happen right away but, the solid waste took about two weeks to accomplish. AND that just seemed to happen overnight....it was like something just clicked. I am proud to say we have had great luck and are wearing panties all day long except for nap time and nighttime. I am hoping to lose the pull-ups at nap time soon. She has woke up dry 4 out of the last 5 days!

Snow Sledding?!?!?

Yesterday Kane parents came over with a special little something to use on the snow before it all melted away. Lydia loved playing on in snow the past weekend..but had never ridden on a sled. We were waiting patiently when they pulled up and she of course was excited to see them and Frost their yellow lab. She has yet to meet a four legged friend she didn't like :)

We put the sled down and she really wasn't that interested...she finally decided to set on it and try it out. Well, that lasted all of about 15 seconds and she was "all done" with that. She was more interested in following Frost and walking around in the snow.

Finally, she decides to give the sled one more try...this time it lasted about 30 seconds and she actually went on a "ride" I have no doubt that in years to come she will grow to LOVE doing this :)

Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe comes from my mother-in-law's great friend Margaret Neal. They are the BEST chocolate chip cookies ever!! I will guarantee you...you can't eat just one. This recipe is easy. I have changed it up a bit and think they are so yummy.....of course they are the BEST right out of the oven. I often joke about entering these in the CC Fair :) ENJOY!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 c. shortening (I just butter flavor)
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 T. vanilla

4 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 (16 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips (I just a bigger bag of milk chocolate chips)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla thoroughly. Measure flour and blend dry ingredients. Stir into sugar mixture. Mix in chocolate pieces. Drop rounded teaspoonsful 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet.

While in Tulsa visiting my friend Amber I saw she had something for her daughters chair that I knew we needed at our house. Lydia has been back and forth from her booster and high chair. I know that she is really too BIG for a high chair...and cleaning the booster and around it was just too much for me. Not to mention the mess it made on the chair. I know I am LAZY! Plus half the time she wants to set in the chairs that we do. So, I gathered the information from Amber and ordered it from my NEW favorite place---Amazon. They have everything and FREE shipping! I ordered it and in no time it was here and Lydia loves it :)

The Kaboost has made eating at our house soooo much easier and cleaner!

I decided to go with the dark brown...kinda almost blends in.

Snow Bunny

Yesterday the sun was shinning bright and we thought it would be a wonderful day to spend sometime out playing in the snow. So, we all put on our boots and ventured out in the yard and surrounding areas. I think I can say with no doubt that Lydia LOVES the snow just as much as her parents do :) In fact the little Miss didn't want to go inside. After playing in the front yard she walked all around the house, to the kennel, and back to where our grass ends. Needless to say she was good and wore out for her nap :)

Wildcats

Lydia loves the Wildcats and of course that means Willy too :) Please don't think we are brain washing her..she can go to any college she wants (and she can pay for it too)! I am just joking! It would be a hard pill for her father to swallow if she and her siblings didn't go to K-State...but, I have a feeling she WILL want to go there :)

Let It Snow!

Lydia and I have enjoyed our snow day! When I was teaching I really LOVED snow days. Kane would tell me I was worse than some kid. He was probably right?!?!

I have to admit I was a little bummed once I saw the school district had called off school. This meant that Lydia would not have KDI. We both really enjoy this time on Friday's. She gets to go and play with her friends and I get to enjoy some time to myself :) I had a huge list of things I needed to get done today...and for the most part I was successful with a little helper.

Last weekend we made the decision to move Lydia to a "big bed" and I really mean big bed. She is sleeping in a queen size bed. She is doing a great job! The move has meant the two "kids" bedrooms upstairs are in totally disarray! That was one of my main goals for the day. Lydia however found her old car seat and has decided that it is the perfect size for Miss Emma to set in. She even has a diaper bag packed!

A Little Trip

On Wednesday Kane, Lydia and I head South to Tulsa for a couple of days. Kane was taking a class for work and we thought we would tag along. I have been on several business trip with Kane, but I think this was the first for little miss. We didn't leave until 5.30 on Wednesday stopped on the way to eat then we headed south. When we got to the hotel..which we had a hard time finding because of all the road construction we were all beat. Lydia didn't go to sleep that night until 10.30 (which is WAY late for her) and woke at 6.30 (which is WAY early for her). She was one sleepy little girl. One of the main reasons we tagged along was so we could spend some time with Amber and her girls.

The girls had a wonderful time playing together! The first day we just hung out at their house and played, napped and watched TV. It was a great relaxing day. For dinner we meet the guys and then it was back to the hotel.

Lydia really LOVED "our room" as she called it. It was really cute. However, she didn't want to sleep in her pack in play so....with two double beds..guess who got to share one with her. You guessed it...the pregnant one. Let's just say by night number #2 I did something really mean!! She was stuck to me like a glove and boy was she HOT..and I so don't do HOT! I had really had it with her sooooo yes, I slightly rolled a little on her, and the next words out of her mouth were---"get in my bed"...gladly :)

The second day we headed to Little Gym where Hadley is taking a class. Lydia and I watched and checked out the babies in the waiting room. Then we went to Chilli's..where my daughter was in rare form. She really was traveled out :(

We left around four that night and stopped at LJS to eat where I told Lydia to eat her hush puppy and she picked it up, looked at me and said "eat my dog." She also picked up a little phase somewhere during the week...and it goes a little something like this "don't want to." I can see the great times ahead :) My sister asked me when this sassiness would end...I told her if we were lucky in 15 or 16 years!

This is were I spent a lot of the trip...just hanging out on the couch :)

BIG Monday

Last Monday night Kane and I headed to Manhattan to cheer on our Kansas State Wildcats in the "Big Monday" game against the #1 Texas Longhorns. I can honestly say that it was one of the most exciting sporting events I have ever been to. Bramlage was packed or should I say the Octagon of Dome. I don't think there was an empty seat in the house.

We got there a little early so we could grab a bite to eat with Christie and her friend Ken. We ate a great Mexican restaurant and made it to the game about 10 minutes before tip off. Kane was getting a little nervous. He likes to be ready for GAME TIME.

The game was a close one...AND it was real HOT in there. I had to go cool off with about 5 minutes left. I made it make to by seat with plenty of time left. I think the last 3 minutes took over 20. It was long.....BUT, so worth it. We came away with a Wildcat victory.

Of course Saturday we didn't play so hot and got beat by the Cowboys. We really need to work on being consistent (as Kane would say.) However, that still doesn't take away for the great time we had last Monday! Did I mention how much I love Manhattan---what a great town.

Hopefully the cats can pull it together for a victory tomorrow night--Every Man A Wildcat!

Apple Muffins

INGREDIENTS:

3 c. chopped apples, peeled
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
3 ½ c. flour
1 T. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda
1 c. vegetable oil
3 eggs
2 c. chopped nuts
2 tsp. vanilla

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350 degree. Grease muffin tins or use muffin liners. Thoroughly combing apples and sugar, then add the rest of the dry ingredients. Mix well. Add oil, eggs, nuts and vanilla. The batter will be very thick and gooey. Fill muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake 25-30 minutes.

30 Weeks

Today marks 30 weeks AND I am starting to feel every bit of 30 weeks. I am definitely starting to lose my energy by mid afternoon and I am pretty much done for by the time Lydia goes to bed.

Some things that I am experiencing this time around compared to my first pregnancy. I can't stop eating sweets (this could have something to do why I had to take the three hour glucose test) I am pretty sure if given the chance I would rather eat a donut, cake, pie, snickers..you name it, it is in my mouth than a full meal. I don't ever remember craving anything the first time around.

I also was lucky enough not to have experienced any swelling with Lydia and that is so not the case this time. I know it has something to do with the amount of standing I do during the day. My poor legs and feet really need some attention..hint, hint, Kane :) My rings are also starting to feel real tight..yikes.

Last but certainly not least..my poor skin. Don't get me know my complexion has never been perfect, but when I was pregnant with Lydia It looked great....my skin currently is a train wreck!

ALL that being said...I still think this is a little GIRL!! Lydia has started kissing and hugging my belly before she goes to bed and tonight she said good night to her "little sister". I don't think she really cares..as long as we bring home this "baby" we have been talking about. She is going to make a great BIG sister.

30 Weeks

This Time Last Week!

Oh, my gosh! I can't believe one whole week has passed and I still haven't blogged about my girls weekend :) This week has been crazy. I will share more about that later....and has for the trip...I am totally stealing my friend's posts because I am having an awful time trying to load pics. So, I hope you don't mind Amber and Laura :)

I had a great time relaxing, shopping, eating, and just having a great time. I want to say a special thanks to my wonderful husband Kane and to Grandma Connie for watching Lydia so I could have a wonderful weekend just for me!

I also, want to say...after looking at the pictures...boy, I hope I didn't act as sleepy as a looked! My body is still trying to play catch up. I can't wait for the next trip..bring it on :)

The Results Are In

On Friday I got the results of my three hour glucose test. Everything came back normal. Needless to say I was very happy. I know that it is something that is not too serious but I just didn't want to deal with it. However, the test it's self was a pain. If this isn't our last baby...I hope to never have to do that again. Getting blood from me is difficult to put it lightly. Usually, our hometown Dr.'s office just sends me to the hospital after trying 6-9 times (not joking.) AND I never complain because it really doesn't bother me. I have gotten to the point were I usually just tell them which vein will work (right arm--left side.) AND that is the ONE that will work!

I usually don't have such a problem at my OB's office and since a phlebotomist is doing it, it usually just takes one or two tries. I didn't have a single problem during my one hour test. However, things were very different on Wednesday. After four tries she sent down the street where the office sends all there samples. It also happens to be a drug screening facility so, I really meet some interesting folks.

I only and two small problems there, which to me was a success! I was so happy to leave that place and get some food...I was starving!

So, glad that everything is fine and our baby is doing great! What a blessing!!

Baby Update

I haven't blogged lately about our new addition. He or She is doing great and moving like crazy! I won't complain because I just LOVE that feeling. I am beginning to feel pregnant. Aerobics is getting a little tougher and I am pretty sure Thursday night will be my last night of spinning. The new schedule came out and it really didn't fit what I wanted to do, so, I might just fill in when they have an open bike. However, spinning was really getting tough...so, I might not miss it :)

I had an appointment last Wednesday. I had gained a couple of pounds. I haven't added up all the weight I have gained. I guess I am not too worried about it. I gained 43 pounds with Lydia and I am pretty sure this one might top in the 50's. I was surprised I was measuring right on. Yes, real surprised. I took my hour glucose test and was disappointed that I received a call that my levels were a little high. I have to go back tomorrow for the 3 hour test.

I am really not looking forward to it. I have to stay in the office the whole time. I have a hand full of People magazines to keep me busy. I mean there is only so much people watching I can do :) I am soooo hoping everything comes back normal. I will keep you updated on my results.

Friday evening as I was preparing supper I asked Lydia to go to the stairs and let her daddy know it was time to eat. I had never asked her to do this before but, she is such a BIG helper in the kitchen I needed something to distract her and move her out for a small amount of time. She promptly walked to the stairs, stood at the top and yelled...KANE....KANE....KANE...I wonder where she saw something like that?!?!? I guess kids really do pick up on their parents actions. Needless to say we all thought it was pretty funny. AND it worked he came up to eat :)

I hope everyone had a great New Years! We ventured over to my good friend Megan's house. Megan and her husband Brent have a party every year. I do believe it is Brent's favorite holiday. We had a great time ringing in the new year with them! Laura, Justin, Brent, and Carolyn were also there to celebrate. After toasting to the new year with sparkling cider for me of course and Carolyn (who is expecting a baby boy in May) we headed to Cory and Kara's house. Needless to say it was one late night for this pregnant lady. Lydia stayed the night with my parents so we were able to sleep in until 8.30! She had a great night and so did we..it was a win-win situation.

2010...With each new year..comes new resolutions...however, this year I am calling them "goals". I have several that I plan on accomplishing. So, wish me luck! I hope that everyone has a blessed 2010!!

Christmas Day

On Christmas morning we spend the early morning at our house seeing what Santa has left for a good little girl. After checking things out and of course giving everything a try we get ready and head to Kane's parents house for our traditional gumbo prepared my Kane. I am not sure how many years we have carried on this tradition. I am thinking at least five and hopefully we have many more years to come.

One of my favorite things that happened this Christmas was sharing the true meaning of Christmas with Lydia. I know that she fully doesn't understand but I want her to know that there is SO MUCH more to Christmas than just getting gifts and Santa. Early in December Lydia had received two Nativity Scenes. Of course her favorite individual was Baby Jesus. She would carry them around wanting to wrap them up and hold them tight. It was so precious! So, on Christmas morning we asked her what today was. We got little response. We soon told her that it was Christmas and Baby Jesus birthday. She quickly said..Happy Birthday Jesus. It was priceless. The true reason for the season.

Christmas Eve

For as long as I can remember my mother's family would come to our house for Christmas Eve. We would have chili, beef stew and plenty of other things to snack on. When my parents sold there house (my childhood home) and moved into a very small house we started celebrating Christmas at our house. My mom always brings the stew and I make the chili.

This year we had a very small crowd. Getting to our house was difficult due to the snow drifts. In fact our drive way was four wheel drive only. My dear husband even had to play shuttle driver. I was sad that my grandma wasn't able to make it but, know it was defiantly for the best. I wouldn't have wanted her to fall and hurt herself.

Lydia is the only little one so after we ate she settled into her role of opening gifts. When she turned two in November she really mastered the skills of unwrapping gifts.

For Christmas this year Kane and I got a new camera. I absolutely love it. It came about a week before the big holiday and unfortunately I really didn't get a chance to "learn all about it." After all the pictures were taken Kane downloaded them...and these were his words. Well, one of us need to learn how to focus...not mentioning any names. So, unfortunately most of the family pics I took were real blurry.

I hope to post about Christmas Day later this evening!! We had a blessed Christmas Eve and are very thankful for great family.

Santa

On Sunday we decided to eat at one of our local Mexican restaurants and then go through Isle of Lights. After being there a while I noticed that there were a lot of kids around. I told Kane that Santa might be coming. Lydia is a huge fan of Santa in BOOKS. She loves her Santa books or she often just calls him ho-ho. The first year we went to see Santa, Lydia did great..of course she was only about a month old. Last year was a totally different story and I think Kane ended up holding her beside him. This year was no different. When we saw him come it we really started talking him up and she seemed excited until she actually saw him walking towards our table. She wanted nothing to do with Jolly Old Saint Nick! I tried holding her, but that was still too close for her. We then tried it one more time with Kane holding her and she was able to calm down for one picture. As you can see she is NOT too sure about the whole situation :)

This Santa is extra special. He is actually the Minister that married Kane and I. It is always great to see him around town and now we are able to share our growing family with him.

25 Weeks

Sunday marked 25 weeks of pregnancy. I am growing...growing....growing AND still feeling great. I found out a couple of weeks ago that unless something happens before I will be having this baby on March 22, 2010 @ 1.30 p.m. We are getting really excited and know there is lots to get done before baby #2 arrivals.

One day I just know this is another girl and then the next I am thinking boy. SO, I really don't have a clue! I think we are getting closer to finalizing names which is really exciting.

I will share a little story that happened to me last night during a Christmas Party. A women came up to me and asked if I was due on Christmas Eve. I looked at her and said nope...not until the end of March. She then looked back at me and said S*&T? Really, was that necessary?!?!

Cookies Anyone?

On Wednesday Lydia and I decided we would make some Christmas sugar cookies. She has helped out in the kitchen several times but, we haven't ever made sugar cookies. She was very excited. I had a hard time getting things ready because she was already and wasn't she what the hold up was. She is a little impatient :)

Celebrating Daddy's Birthday

Last Friday was Kane's birthday and we decided to make him cupcakes to celebrate! Lydia will only eat chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting..she is kinda picky thing :) So, after her nap we hit the kitchen to bake some yummy cakes.

What A Little TRoOpeR

Yesterday Lydia had surgery to replace a set of ear tubes. She had the same procedure done in April and had recently lost both tubes. We were certain that we wanted to replace them. Lydia suffered from several ear infections and since getting the tubes in April she hadn't had one. She did an awesome job! She didn't even cry when they carried her away from us. This could have been because they were offering her a sucker :) This procedure is so quick. I don't even think it took 10 minutes before we were talking to the doctor. A nurse can and got us and we meet up with Lydia in a recovery room. On the way there the nurse said she was doing really well and hadn't made a sound. She was just really looking everyone over. Last time she was really upset when we met back up with her. This time she just looked sleepy. However, she did throw up three times before we got home. The poor thing. Today she is doing great. Both ears are clear and she is back to eating her regular diet.

The Family Christmas Tree

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at our house! I just love decorating for Christmas. It makes our home feel some warm and cozy. This year we took Uncle Kye to the airport on the Friday after Thanksgiving and of course couldn't pass up the opportunity to purchase our tree.

We don't go to a farm and cut our own down...instead we head to a Lowe's store and find a special one there. I had never had a real tree until we got married. Now I can't imagine having Christmas without one. I love the look and smell. You could say I am kinda picky. I usually takes us a good 30 minutes to find that special one. However, this year we selected the first one Kane stood up---that NEVER happens.

Two days later we got around to putting the lights and decorations on. I insisted on putting the light on while Lydia was napping. I put over 1000 lights on..so, it takes a little time and well, she would have been A LOT of help :)

Our ornaments are so special to me. Most of them were made by my grandmother or have been passed down from Kane's grandma. We even have a few that were our childhood ornaments. Like an apple that has my name on it from 1984 or a baseball that Kane signed in 1991! I just LOVE it. I think Lydia really likes it too. Every time we come home she insists that we turn the tree lights on. Too cute!

It has been a whirlwind couple of weeks. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgivings. I know our family had so much to be thankful for. This year for Lydia's birthday we decided to have a family party and a friends party. She had a blast at both! She really got the hang of opening up gifts this year.

Fall Harvest

A couple of weeks ago Kane's parents were VERY busy cutting beans. Kane missed out helping do to his work schedule at the refinery. So, one sunny afternoon Lydia and I loaded up lunch and headed down to one of the fields. After we ate Lydia was invited to take her very first ride in the combine. I of course rode with her. There is a perfect little set for a passenger. If you remember from a past post, Lydia LOVED riding in the tractor while we were planting in the spring. However, the combine was a totally different story. She pretty much cried for the first two minutes. And when your only going 3.8 miles per hour I knew I had to find a way to cheer her up or it was going to be a long circle back to our car. I quickly started asking her about Frost (Grandma and Papa's dog) and that seemed to do the trick. She was sure ready to "get out" when we circled back around. We still have sunflowers to cut so maybe we will try again with daddy.

I can't believe that my baby is 2 today! It seems like just yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital. And, yet she has changed so much. I decided to put a variety of pictures on this post to share a little of our last two years.

I LOVE this little girl so much..She is full of energy! She love to smile and giggle. She has such a deep belly laugh. It is hard not to join in.

20 Weeks

Last Sunday marked 20 weeks. I can't believe that this pregnancy is already half over. It is going so fast! We will be bringing home a baby soon. I am still feeling good! I am still attending aerobics and spinning. I hope to continue both until the BIG day. Which might be wishful thinking!

Last Wednesday we had an appointment to take a look at our growing baby! It was so exciting. Lydia made the trip and well, was really too busy doing other things to really care. She did perk up when she heard the heartbeat. Things went well and everything looks great. We were fortunate enough to have the same tech..she is a super sweet lady.

The first thing she said after putting the wand on my stomach was "well, there's just one" I guess after seeing my stomach she thought twins maybe?!?!? So, I'm sure you are wondering BOY or GIRL and well.....we of course didn't find out. I am leaning towards girl. However, I am reserving the right to change my mind :) Kane is still thinking boy. So, I guess at least one of us will be right!

Our Little Pumpkin

So, I'm a little behind. We have had major Internet and computer problems at our house. I am pretty much a tech disaster so, I had to rely on my husband to figure things out. I would definably done more harm than good. Luckily we THINK we have fixed the problem. We almost had to call Uncle Kye for tech support :)

Well, Halloween was over a week ago and I think Lydia really enjoyed herself. We haven't returned the pumpkin custom that we borrowed from friends and she wanted to wear it last week again. She of course wanted nothing to do with the hat. However, she was a HUGE fan of the CANDY!

Our town had several opportunities to get dressed up. On Tuesday we headed to our weekly playgroup all dressed up for some pictures with friends and them headed to the Spooks Parade that evening.

After the parade was over we waited to hear the winners of the custom contest! Lydia refused to walk the two blocks..I think maybe all the people were a bit much for her.

KSU Weekend

Lydia was lucky enough to attend her second K-State football game AND see her Uncle Kye all in the same weekend. It was a chilly morning but by kick off it was pretty nice and the sun was shining bright. Lydia did an excellent job this time around. She actually watched and cheered on the game. We stayed until halftime then headed to Christie's house for a nap. I don't think we missed much during the second half..neither team scored!

We had a great time! Next year Lydia will need a ticket to enter so, I'm not sure if she will get to come and we will have a second child...so, I'm not sure I will get to come either. This coming weekend we play KU---GO CATS!!!

Pumpkin Patch

Last Thursday our PAFT group headed to the local pumpkin patch. It was a bit cold, wet, and muddy! However, we decided to brave the elements and pick out a very special pumpkin. I don't think we took Lydia last year probably because she wasn't a big fan of being held and preferred to walk on her knees. This year I really wanted to go. I thought she would really enjoy it and she of course did not disappoint.

Kane has been working crazy hours this month so there was never a good time to go as a family. Hopefully next year he can come with!

Each child got to pick out one pumpkin. I thought Lydia had hers picked several times. I guess she is just as indecisive as her mother!

Finally she selected a pumpkin! I think she really liked this one. All afternoon she pushed it around in the stroller. What a little character.
