So, I had a Dr. appointment on Tuesday. Everything looked and sounded great. I got to hear the heartbeat. It was pretty much going the same tempo as Lydia's always was...so, maybe another girl. We of course don't have a preference--just a healthy and happy baby.
My doctor and I decided on another c-section. It would not be "medically smart" for me to try and have a baby vaginally. You see Lydia never dropped and about a week before my due date my doctor gave me the option of having a c-section. She was pretty sure we were having a 9 lb. baby and either the baby was too big or the cord was wrapped around his or her neck. So, after much debate we decided on the section. AND boy was that the right decision. She told me after the surgery that there was no way I was having that baby. She thought that a 7 lb baby would be my max. AND we are NOT having a 7 lb baby. Lydia was 9.2 lb--pretty chunky :) I told her she could pick the date...we will have our new addition sometime during the week of March 22, 2010.
My next appointment is on October 19 and then we will schedule a sonogram. Many of you have asked if we will find out the gender and NO we don't find out early. We love the surprise. Most people think we are nuts...and hey we probably are...but, that is how we like to do things.

What Was I Thinking?!?!?
I am a member of a quilt guild..yes, I quilt. I am even an officer on the board of directors. I haven't been quilting too long and I really don't sew on a regular basis. I enjoying doing it but I always seem to have other irons in the fire :) In July our guild had a block challenge and I decided to participate..this is were the title of this entry comes into play "what was I thinking" Well, what I was thinking was I would be an active and productive member of the guild. Totally overrated.....The challenge was that everyone had to use the same piece of fabric in their block. They could use it for any number of the pattern. I decided to use it as the center star. I have NEVER done a block this difficult and even though it is NOT perfect I am REALLY proud of it. If fact I LOVE the way it turned out.
This is the challenge fabric that each guild member participating received. I wasn't a huge fan of it but, I really like the way it turned out in the finished block.

First Haircut
On Labor day we headed to my mom's shop to get Lydia's hair cut. Yes, my daughter was almost 22 months before her first haircut. My mother assures me that just like my sister and I she will have PLENTY of hair.
Lydia really excited to get to set in the chair. AND yes, she has no pants on...we were trying potty training.

Crazy Busy
Last week was crazy busy around here!! Of course when you are really busy you never get anything you need or want to get done. However, you shouldn't feel so bad for me this weekend I was at Bluegrass and did exactly what I wanted to.
Since I haven't blogged in forever...thanks so much for all the comments and emails regarding our new addition. We are very excited!! I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday so I will have an update to share.
My goal this week is to blog every day--so, now since I have said it...I must do it :)

The Fields
Wednesday night we headed down to check out the beans and sunflowers. We all loaded in the ranger. Lydia was not a happy camper that her mother was riding along and pretty much through a fit the whole way down there trying to push me out of the passenger sit. You see our fields are just south of our house on a gravel road...so, yes, we don't always make Lydia ride in a car seat. Needless to say I just rode in the back on the way home which Lydia thought was pretty cool.
Kane and Lydia ventured out in the middle of the bean Field. I stayed put...I'm never dressed right. I mean who wears capri pants and flip flops in the middle of all that? I can't believe how tall the bean are. Just to get an idea..Kane is 6'4'' and wears a 36'' inseam in pants...and they are up to his waist. Lydia still wasn't in the best of moods. She kept saying "down, down" but, didn't like walking through the field. She was having a tough night :(

A soybean up close and personal. They looked pretty good and tasted good as well!
Lydia getting her first taste of a soybean...I think she liked it :)

The sunflowers were finally in bloom and looked beautiful. Kane thought that they would be blooming for about two more weeks. So, hopefully we can make it back down next week to take some more pictures.
