Bright Idea
This is what my husband calls my wonderful ideas to beautify our home. Sure he says this with a sarcastic under tone :) He claims to think I have NO clue "how much work it will really be." And I hate to say it but must of the time he is right..I don't have a clue! Thank goodness we were able to use his dad's equipment because me on the other end of a shovel would not have lasted very long.
Yes, we torn up our sod...the part of our yard that were already done

Flashback Friday
This is my last belly shot before Miss Lydia joined our family. We had a scheduled c-section so the morning we had her was very calm and relaxing. We didn't have to be in Wichita until 9 am...so, we actually got to sleep in. I do remember how excited I was. We didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl! The only thing I knew was I was pretty BIG!
I loved every minute of it. Lydia was born November 16, 2007 @ 11.32 am weighing 9 lbs. 2 ozs. and 19 1/2 inches. However, we aren't sure the measurments were right..you see the following Tuesday when we went to the doctors she was measuring almost 22 inches. I don't think they gave her a good stretch :)

Fresh Produce
After living in our house for three years we decided it was time for a vegetable garden. I love growing flowers but don't know the first thing about planting a veggie garden. With some guidance from Kane's parents we set off to grow some food. When we planted our garden I don't know how many times I said "we don't know what the H we are doing."
Most of the plants did come up. However, the deer have eaten most of our beans and some of our tomatoes :( Sunday Kane picked lots of squash, zucchini, and some cucumbers. They were all amazing...yummy!

Happy Birthday Jon!
Happy 31st birthday Jon! I hope that you have a great day! Jon and Kane have been friends since childhood. I believe Kane, Kye and Jon had some sort of baseball card business...I have ALL the proof in my basement! I think they even had business cards made. I too, have know Jon for a long time..I have vivid memories of riding the bus together to Country View.
There is never a dull moment with Jon---Thanks for all the good times and to the many more to come :)

Happy Father's Day
Happy Father's Day to my husband. He is a wonderful father!!! I thank my lucky stars that I found a great one. I am so blessed. Today we headed to Church, cleaned, did yard work, and had Kane's parents over for supper. We tried out some new recipes. I think everything turned out great :)

Out of Commission
Friday night I could tell something wasn’t quite right with the way I was feeling. I knew what it was…one of my notorious sore throats. You see, I have this feeling a lot. I had just had one of these at the end of April and it was back again. RATS!! I went to the doctor..not sure why, he always tells me the same thing….looks painful, not strep, probably a virus. However, this trip was a little different because, he mentioned going to see an ENT doc and possibly having my tonsils removed. Say what…I’m almost 30! My appointment is on July 1st, so, I will keep you posted :)
Needless to say I have been sick, but feeling lots better today!

Cat Backers
Last night was the annual Cat Backers golf tournament and dinner. This year I was a little more excited then in years past. The one and only Bill Snyder was the main guest of honor. I really enjoyed listening to him speak. He told some great stories.

"The Watch" I should wear everyday NOT just game day!!!
Of course there is also a little auction. I wasn't planning on bidding on anything untill Kane asked if I had seen "the watches" So, after I nibbled on a steak the size of my plate ( no joking) I made my way to the auction items. It was a nice watch..so, I thought I would bid on it? Harmless, right?!?!?! I lose all my good sense when I hear an auctioneers voice. So, needless to say I paid way too much for this watch...I do like it, the money goes to a good cause, and it really is Kane's fault!

A Special Visitor
Lydia had a very special visitor last week. Her Uncle Kye came to visit. We only get to see Kye about 3 times a year. He hadn't seen LG (Lydia Grace) since Christmas so she had really grown up! Lydia had a blast with him. He of course brought the little girl some special items. A mega block barn yard, a neat book and last but not least a Tonka Truck. She loved everything!
Monday we decided to head to the park where a new play set has been build and feed the ducks. Lydia loves to swing so that was our first stop. It was pretty warm..well, more like HOT..so we headed for the shade and the ducks. Later that afternoon I had a meeting at church so Uncle Kye got to babysit the little angel. However, from what I heard she was kinda fussy!
We also got to spend some extra time with grandma and grandpa while Kye was here visiting. Lydia loves to run around outside. This is something that I have had to adjust to...I am not a person that really enjoys spending large amounts of time outside, but anything for my little girl!

Not SO easy
Tractor FUN!
Today was a very busy day around our house. Kane and his parents were busy planting beans and sunflowers (I think those were the two crops of choice this year.) Lydia and I really didn't do much besides provide some meals to the workers. Which was a new experience for me.
Lydia getting loaded up
Lydia and I did get a ride in the air conditioned tractor (thank goodness), she just loved it and of course didn't want to get out! She will probably learn how to drive the tractor before me.

I finally did it!
Finally after months..ok maybe a year I have decided to start a blog. I have enjoyed reading other blogs and believe that this is a great way to keep in touch with friends and family. It also will be a way of scrapbooking our life.
